Hello to the Crook family. My mother emailed this link to me and I've just been able to read the latest. Thank you SO much for creating something like this so that all of us can keep check on a man that means so much to so many. I can only imagine what the family must be going through during this process. I began to tear up just reading about Mr. Crook's surgeries and all that he has gone through. I know that it must be even more difficult for y'all. lucy kole 10/31/2009 09:27
I didn't get the news until last night (Mercer's birthday) since we now live in Oglethorpe County. Mercer is in my prayers - the best medicine will be when y'all tell him how UGA beat the odds & beat Fla. He'll get right on up from there! Bless him & all of the family - know that you are surrounded by love. Lucy Kole Sherry (Highfield) Smith 10/31/2009 15:28
My mom sent me this link a little while ago and I am going to pass it on to several EHHS graduates that have been getting together this past year for dinners, etc. We met this past Wednesday and the conversation was about Mr. Crook but no one knew very much. We are all praying for his speedy recovery and our thoughts are with you, the family. Kathy Crane Ledfor 10/31/2009 15:43

We do know that you cant keep a good DAWG down! We will continue to pray, and we love you and your family dearly!!! Raymond & Dianasue Walton 11/01/2009 19:32
All the years both Dianasue and I have played with you in NorthWinds (and the GSO), one of the highlights, past your great oboe playing, was your ongoing verbal banter with Ernie and others during rehearsals. I personally considered it a mark of respect to start getting occasional "insults" from my double reed colleague in recent years! Carrie 11/01/2009 20:36
He is an on time GOD. My prayers are with you all and thoes around you. I pray for God to give you strength when you have none, rest when you need it., and the peace of mind that he knows what he is doing. Pat S venema 11/01/2009 21:31

We pray that today is a good day and that God's peace is with you all! Last time we had a lesson Mercer said he might just grow long hair, get his ear pierced and hit the road with his band! We all laughed but I can't wait to see it happen! Thank ya'll so much for allowing him to be a part of our lives! Mrs. Crook you must be an angel you have shared him with so many people throughout the years.Thank you for sharing, it has truely changed our lives. Have a blessed day! Dave Reesman 11/02/2009 08:25
Hi Michael and Candice, Melissa Robison Donaldson 11/02/2009 10:28
I was terribly shocked to hear about Mercer. We grew up together, and he followed his dream in music like I "should" have done. I am so proud of him and love him dearly - always have and so did my Daddy, Mr. Robison. I am constantly praying for Mercer and Chris and all of the family. May God restore him to good health so he can continue to play his music and continue his wonderful teaching career. Our 45th class reunion is next year, so like Chris said, he has a goal. God be with you and your family. Gail Wall Stover 11/02/2009 11:11
So sorry to hear about the accident - I will have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Dan Bailey 11/02/2009 11:28

Dear Mercer, Are your ears burning?! I just returned from Winder and your name came up quite frequently. While at home I saw Martha Jane (Hosch), Margaret (Austin), Lynn (Brown) and Melissa (Robison)and got caught up with the latest on your situation. Oh, and I ran into Larry Joe Wilburn at the DQ and he asked if I'd heard about what happened to you. Sure did hate to hear about the accident but it sounds like you had an angel on your shoulder that day because we could easily be talking about what a great guy Mercer "was" instead of how thankful we are that you were spared. I hope you continue to improve daily and that it won't be long before you can break out of there. Everyone is keeping you and your family in their thoughts and prayers. We're all looking forward to seeing you at our 45th class reunion in May. Terry Saye (Class of 65 WBHS) 11/10/2009 12:37

You are on the offensive. You will win it. His healing is working with you now. I have every belief that you'll be back to your canterkerous self in no time. Just think of it you're giving your children gray hairs. If you can blink on your own then being awake isn't far away. Because God doesn't want you now he wants you to get well.
